Installing Synap
Download and install Synap on macOS or Windows in under a minute — no configuration or account required.
Installing Synap
Download the app
Visit synap.app and download the version for your operating system. Synap is available for macOS and Windows.
Install on macOS
Open the downloaded file and drag the Synap icon into your Applications folder. That's it. Double-click Synap in your Applications folder to launch it.
If macOS asks whether you want to open an app downloaded from the internet, click Open. This is a standard security prompt that appears for any new application.
Install on Windows
Run the downloaded installer and follow the on-screen steps. Once the installation finishes, Synap will be available from your Start menu and desktop.
Your first launch
When you open Synap for the first time, a default workspace called a "mind" is already set up and waiting for you. There's nothing to configure, no account to create, and no setup wizard to click through.
You'll see the app's main screen right away, ready to explore. Don't worry about understanding everything at once — the interface is designed to feel familiar, and the next sections of this guide will walk you through it step by step.
Automatic updates
Synap keeps itself up to date automatically. When a new version is available, the app will download and install it in the background. You'll always have the latest features and improvements without lifting a finger.
